I’ve been contemplating starting a blog for a while. But then the question comes up as to what I want my blog to be about. Food? Travel? Knitting? A diary? I’m not the kind of person who likes to write every day, and I’m certainly not as plugged in to technology as the rest of my generation. How would I ever keep up in a world that goes a mile a minute (that’s about 100km per hour if you were wondering for all of those people not in the states)? Well, I take photos. And some pretty good ones every once in a while. For me, they’re enough to tell my story. I have realized that my photos link all of the different parts of my life: the globe trotter, the tramper, the band geek, the foodie, the videogamer and whatever else I delve into. I’ll be posting when I feel like it, and in no particular order. I’ll be putting up old photos, new photos, and links to photos I enjoy. Because that’s what blogging is supposed to be about; sharing experiences and enjoyment. So to all of you, I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I intend to enjoy it!
And of course I’m going to post a photo to start out: I’ve been thinking a lot about New Zealand lately and about the various tramping trips I took. I studied there from January to August 2011 but a part of me never left. Above is Lake Monowai, my favorite lake in New Zealand. It’s off the beaten path and very peaceful and quiet. Ironically this isn’t even my photo; it belongs to my good friend Gitte. She got a much better shot of the lake than I did, so I just look at her picture instead. 😛 Enjoy!
