Matt and I took a getaway weekend to the town of Pt. Arena in Mendocino County last weekend. We had fabulous weather and it was a good balance of getting away and relaxation. We didn’t do anything I couldn’t do with my recovering knee, but there wasn’t a lot that I was missing. I’m not going to give a long narrative (I’ll let the photos speak for themselves) but we stayed at the Wharfmaster’s Inn in Arena Cove, visited the Pt. Arena Lighthouse, ate at the chowder house next to the inn and at the bakery along main street.
Herons can be beautiful!
The knee is rapidly getting better! I can actually sit in a chair now (knee flexed at 90 degrees) and today I took my first few crutch-free steps in the brace. For 3.5 weeks in, not bad!
Well, I’m alive! I’m healing up nicely from the surgery but unfortunately I can’t bend my leg and it really doesn’t like being placed below 90 degrees from my body. So, the mass editing and posting will have to wait until I can sit at my computer in a chair for any length of time. Maybe next week? But think of all of the knitting and TV I’ve caught up on!!
Anyways, here’s one of the last photos I took before surgery, at a monitoring gig in the south bay. What a pretty snake!
